Today
we are reading If
You Get Lost by Nikki Loftin, illustrated by
Deborah Marcero.
If
you get lost—and you might get lost—you could get lost.
Are you already lost?
Stop. Look up, look down, look in, look out, look between—look around.
Still lost?
Then listen—soft and softer, loud and louder, close and closer... and find one
thing, one place, one smile—one friend.
That's
when lost can become something else.
A poem without words.
A song without notes.
A light, a breath, a world, a celebration—of new and bright and wild!
Reach
out and catch that lost feeling.
Stitch it to the sky, pin it to a pine cone, hang it on a branch—float it with
a flower.
If
you get lost—and you might get lost—you could get lost. Let go of lost and grab
hold of one thing, one place—two smiles, new friends.
