Ariel: Here's a riddle: What kind of horse lives under
the sea? A seahorse, of course!
Fernie: The ocean is home to so many different and
interesting animals.
Ariel: And we want you to meet some of our friends. So
come on, let's paddle!
Ariel & Fernie: It's Disney Animals Under the Sea.
Ariel: With me, Ariel.Today's special friends are…
Ariel & Fernie: Seahorses!
Ariel:Seahorses get their name from the shape of their
head and neck.
Fernie: Which looks like a horse! Seahorses are quite
small and swim very slowly by flapping the fin on their back. In fact, they're
some of the slowest swimmers in the sea.
Ariel: Seahorses use their tails to grab and hold on
to things, almost like we use our hands.
Fernie:That kind of tail is called prehensile. Can you
say prehensile? Great!
Ariel:Well done!
Ariel:And if you think seahorses are amazing, wait
till you meet their close relative, the sea dragon.
Ariel:Wow, that's a fantastic-looking… fish?
Fernie:Yep, seahorses and sea dragons are both fish,
even though they look like something totally different.
Ariel:Do they use all those paddle thingies to swim?
Fernie:Actually, those leaf-shaped parts of their
bodies help sea dragons blend in with the kelp forest and seaweed where they
live.
Ariel:Amazing! Today we saw lots of seahorses and sea
dragons. We loved showing you around the ocean today so you can meet the
amazing animals that are all…
