about 17 miles through the night after Tropical Storm Helene to walk his
daughter down the aisle.

Spartanburg County dad, and he was determined to walk his daughter down the
aisle at her wedding, and he was not going to let Helene stop him.
So David Jones drove as far as he could from Boiling
Springs into Unicoi County, Tennessee.
But at one point, he couldn't get any closer by car to
his daughter, Elizabeth Johnson’s city wedding.
So the two-time marathoner took off on foot, dodging
debris, lighting his path with his cell phone and a driveway reflector at one
point.
And then, he presented his daughter after her
ceremony.
David Jones: Let it help you remember to always be
each other’s protector, especially in the darkest hours, just like it did for

He ended up walking about 17 miles with car rides from
two people: a highway patrol trooper for a couple of miles, David. And then a driver who was
passing by who was actually a former colleague of David's, for the last eight
miles of the journey, who drove him in. And look at that beautiful picture.
